Douglas Hickman Jr.

Douglas Hickman Jr.’s multidisciplinary practice emerges from a convergence of heritage, built environment, and cultural memory. Born in Chicago and now based in Los Angeles, his work draws on his studies in architecture at Southern University and Dillard University, alongside his experience in set design and styling for clients such as Netflix, Paramount, SpringHill Entertainment, and Essence. Informed by a deep interest in history and self-expression, his work navigates the layered narratives of Black identity through spatial design, image-making, and material exploration.
