Zay Monae

Zay Monae (b. Xaisha Bailey) is a photographer from South Los Angeles whose work celebrates community, identity, and joy through a deeply personal lens. Of African American and Mexican descent, she draws from her dual heritage to document authentic, culturally rich experiences. A graduate of Cal State Dominguez Hills with a degree in Digital Media Arts, Zay has become a key visual storyteller of LA’s creative renaissance. Her images are rooted in healing, storytelling, and preserving the beauty of everyday Black life.
